Personal statement
As a senior education leader at a large, multi-site Outstanding FE Group, I bring experience in managing complex projects, leading strategic initiatives, and implementing inclusive, trauma-informed environments that support learners. In my current role as Group Head of Alternative Provision, I have successfully designed and launched new provisions in Kent, addressing the needs of SEMH and NEET learners. This work has involved end-to-end strategic planning, funding acquisition, contract negotiation, curriculum design, staff recruitment, and site identification. I’ve developed a deep understanding of commissioning, procurement, and funding arrangements, ensuring alignment with both local college and national priorities. As a Level 5 Trauma-Informed Practitioner, I have driven organisation-wide culture change to prioritise wellbeing across multiple FE sites and within a Youth Justice setting while promoting inclusive, evidence-based leadership. Previously, as a Head Teacher (NPQH), and Department head in FE, I have led multidisciplinary teams, aligned institutional KPIs, and been responsible for the quality-assurance of qualifications (NCFE, CACHE, City & Guilds, BTEC) and Teaching and learning. I have consistently achieved high-impact outcomes through data-driven planning, including opening viable AP centres, increasing retention and progression, and meeting Ofsted expectations through SARs and QIPs. My collaborative approach has built strong external stakeholder partnerships with subcontractors, employers, feeder schools, and community groups, often formalised through MoUs and local agreements. Key skills Strategic planning, safeguarding, budget control, curriculum development, policy writing, mentoring, training, governance, and navigating complex funding/regulatory landscapes, inclusive, approachable, empathetic. As a Governor at a local primary school and a mentor for aspiring leaders at EKC Group, I actively support talent development and community impact. I lead with integrity, adaptability, and a strong belief in every learner’s potential making me well-suited for senior leadership roles in any organisation.
Recently my experience has included speaking at nationwide conferences on Trauma informed practice, SEMH needs and Alternative Provision in FE.
