Role: Learning Facilitator
Location: Shuttleworth College – Old Warden Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £26,780 and £31,415 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications,People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 30 hours per week – 36 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Learning Facilitator to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Learning Facilitator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Study Skills Support – Provide 1:1 and small group out-of-class support for students with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities, helping them develop effective study strategies.
- Resource Development – Create and maintain inclusive learning resources, including assistive technologies, tailored to individual student needs within the Study Centre.
- Collaboration & Monitoring – Work closely with curriculum teams to allocate support, monitor attendance, and ensure students are progressing effectively.
- Administration & Service Improvement – Maintain accurate records (e.g. ISPs, support cards), attend meetings, and contribute ideas to enhance the effectiveness of the Study Centre.
- Statutory Responsibilities – Uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with TBCG policies and procedures.
About you:
- Qualifications & Compliance – Educated to Level 3 standard with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training, GCSEs in Maths and English (A–C), and willingness to undertake further development.
- Experience & Understanding – Background in supporting individuals in educational or care settings, working with diverse learners including those with learning difficulties/disabilities, and handling administrative tasks.
- Skills & Attributes – Strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills; able to work independently and collaboratively, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
- Values & Professional Conduct – Demonstrates commitment to equality, safeguarding, and health & safety; upholds college values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty.
- Flexibility & Engagement – Willing and able to travel across sites, adapt to changing work patterns, contribute to a supportive team environment, and promote the college positively in the community.
