Are you a Civil Engineering Specialist looking for a new challenge, or an experienced Lecturer in Civil Engineering? We are seeking an individual who would love to share their knowledge, skills, and expertise with students in this exciting and rapidly expanding curriculum area teaching Professional Construction to future industry professionals.
If you are new to teaching or have taught under 5 years within Further Education you may be eligible for the targeted retention incentive payment, in addition to your salary. As a Lecturer in Professional Civil Engineering to the development and support for a range of programmes from Level 2 up to Level 5, including our T-Level in Civil Engineering. You will work closely with other members of staff both within the area and across other College areas, ensuring a comprehensive and high-quality educational experience for our students.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, a relevant Level 5 teaching qualification (or committed to work towards in line with contractual requirements), and proven industry-related work experience in the field of Professional Construction. A master’s degree in a Professional Construction Field, Level 3 Assessor Award or equivalent, and previous experience in teaching and assessing students in a further education environment are desirable.
This role requires good BIM and IT skills, excellent organisational and communication skills, a flexible and adaptable attitude to working with students of all ages, and a proactive approach to modernising the curriculum. An awareness of sustainability and climate change and how it applies to FE and can be embedded into the curriculum is also essential.
