Total People are looking to recruit a Pastoral Intervention practitioner to join Total People’s SEND/LDD team. We are looking for someone who has passion and experience of working with young people and / or young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with direct hands-on experience of supporting learners with special educational needs and providing pastoral care.
The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the group of learners at Total People who have an EHCP and will also provide support and guidance to colleagues across Total People’s apprenticeship/adult provision to ensure the best possible SEND support is provided to learners across all provisions.
You will need to be driven, organised and dedicated to managing a busy and demanding workload, as well has having a background is safeguarding, welfare and inclusion.

Due to the nature of the business, you will be required to have a flexible and adaptable approach.
This post is offered on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. Due to the nature of this post, you must be willing to travel to various locations regionally including our sites at Northwich and Crewe.
You may be required to work across other delivery sites / locations and remotely. At Total People we have a team of dedicated colleagues on hand to support you, and you will be provided with all the equipment to enable you to work remotely.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Implementing EHCP outcomes into working plans to assist tailored intervention for learners – both in 1 to 1 and group settings.
- Completing evidence-based assessments/strategies in the learning environment.
- Being learner centered and managing a calm therapeutic learning environment.
- Knowledge of trauma, adversities and the impact of these on young adults’ development.
- Knowledge of other barriers that learners face and work with key stakeholders to overcome these barriers.
- Experience of regular recording and reviewing interventions, progress and learning outcomes to measure impact.
- Experience of working with internal & external agencies as needed.
- Relevant experience of carrying out other administrative duties in relation to SEND.
- Working effectively with fellow tutors, coaches, staff in the sharing of good SEND practice.
- Sound knowledge of GDPR and information sharing.
- Understanding of the legislation, local and national guidance in relation to SEND, Code of Practice and LDD.
- Hold a SEND qualification at Level 5 or above (or willing to work towards).
- Level 2 in math’s and English or equivalent or willing work towards.
