Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £40,000 and £46,349 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. 

Hours/Weeks: 29.6 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Programme Manager in Art and Design to join our Creative Arts department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Programme Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Curriculum Leadership & Development – Lead the design and delivery of a dynamic, employer-responsive Art & Design curriculum that supports student employability and aligns with strategic growth priorities.
  • Quality Assurance & Student Outcomes – Monitor and improve student performance across key metrics (retention, achievement, progression), ensuring outcomes exceed national benchmarks and contribute to departmental success.
  • Team Management & Development – Oversee staff performance, recruitment, and CPD, ensuring consistent implementation of curriculum strategies and fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture
  • Teaching, Learning & Assessment – Deliver a fractional teaching timetable, support inclusive and high-quality learning experiences, and maintain standards through liaison with awarding bodies and internal quality teams.
  • College Engagement & Compliance – Represent the department across TBCG campuses, support college-wide activities and statutory duties (safeguarding, EDI, health & safety), and uphold TBCG values in all aspects of the role.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Professional Experience – Fine Art degree, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, Level 5 Mentoring qualification, and a Master’s in Education, with proven success in course and team management within Further Education.
  • Sector Knowledge & Teaching Expertise – Strong understanding of Art & Design curriculum, quality assurance systems, and experience teaching across multiple levels, underpinned by relevant industry experience.
  • Leadership & Team Management Skills – Ability to lead and develop teams, set and achieve strategic goals, influence at all levels, and manage performance through effective use of data and systems.
  • Professional Attributes & Communication – Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills; able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality with a methodical attention to detail.
  • Values, Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to TBCG values, safeguarding, equality, and health & safety; willing to travel across campuses, adapt working hours, and continuously update skills and knowledge.
