Job Title: Trainer/Assessor in Hospitality

Salary: £ 14,453 – £ 15,334 pro rated (FTE £29,710 – £31,520 annually)

Location: Kirklees College , Waterfront, Manchester Road, Huddersfield

Hours and Weeks per Year: 18 hours / 52 weeks

In the role of Trainer-Assessor you’ll predominantly be based at Waterfront and your focus will be on student recruitment, initial signups, assessment tracking, progress, and employer links.

Your key responsibilities will to recruit, train and assess those apprentices working in the Hospitality industry, primarily on employers’ premises. The post holder will act as the ambassador for the college at all times whilst undertaking the role, particularly in the employer’s workplace. The post also involves contributing to the marketing, development, delivery, assessment and evaluation of programmes to meet market needs and contractual targets and performance criteria.

Ideally, you’ll have Minimum of Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) or ability to demonstrate equivalent ability and L3 Assessor qualification (or willingness and ability to work towards in an agreed timescale) and demonstrable experience in of learner assessment in the workplace and employer liaison. Knowledge and experience apprenticeship standards, with relevant industrial experience.

It’s important that you have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to use initiative and work as part of a team with minimum supervision.  You will have familiarity with using Microsoft Office applications and apprentice tracking software. Hold a full driving licence and use of car insured for business use OR able to prove mobility suitable to the duties of the post. Within your role you will also be able to demonstrate our college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence.
