The Opportunity
Barnsley College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Engineering Lecturer to join our dynamic Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of Engineering qualifications from Level 1 to Level 5.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to curriculum development. The role includes both practical and theoretical elements, ensuring students gain the skills and knowledge required by industry standards.
You will work closely with the Course Leader and other teaching staff to maintain a well-developed and effective curriculum. Participation in student recruitment, departmental meetings, and ongoing professional development is expected.
About You
You are an enthusiastic educator with a strong background in Engineering and a commitment to student success. You have experience teaching Engineering subjects and are confident in delivering both practical and theoretical content.
You hold a relevant Engineering qualification and a teaching qualification (or are willing to work towards one). You are skilled in curriculum planning, assessment, and providing academic and pastoral support to learners.
You are a team player who communicates effectively and contributes positively to the college environment. Experience in delivering Engineering qualifications in an FE setting and knowledge of awarding body requirements are desirable.
Required
· Relevant Engineering qualification
· Cert Ed/PGCE, Level 5 Diploma or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
· GCSEs (Grade C or above) in Maths and English
· Experience teaching Engineering subjects
