Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we have a position available for a Lecturing in Engineering (Welding & Fabrication) on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £40,374 – £45,546 per annum (depending on experience).

The Lecturing in Engineering Role:
As our Lecturing in Engineering, you will deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning in welding and fabrication subject areas from Level 2 to Level 3 including MIG/TIG welding, fabrication, platework and hand fitting specialisations.
Responsibilities as our Lecturing in Engineering will include:
Contribute to the development and delivery of a range of educational programmes including identifying learning objectives; determining, designing and producing study material; planning course/study programme delivery
Contribute to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods
Ensure that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice
Provide academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures
Create an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment
Manage student issues within agreed protocols
Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others
Employer and workplace/work placement visits
Educational guidance and counselling
Supervision of learning programmes
Personal tutoring e.g., the carrying out of individual reviews with students, the delivery of group and individual tutorials. This may be delivered in person or through distance learning
As our Lecturing in Engineering, you’ll ideally have:
Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years
Level 3 qualification in subject area
Minimum 3 years post qualification experience in industry in subject area
Experience facilitating learning for students/apprentices in either an educational or workplace setting
Competent in Microsoft Office applications
Current evidence-based practice in field of expertise
Flexible, adaptable and resilient, able to work with students of all ages
