IT Support Apprentice

Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

Based Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) with up to 2 days per week working from home. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be assigned one day per week dedicated to study for your Level 3 IT qualification.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone with a passion for Technology to join our busy IT Service team. As the IT Support Apprentice, you will be integral in supporting the team to maintain and support systems across the University. You will be involved in responding to tickets, following procedures for new starters, changes and leavers, and providing general IT support to employees across the University.

This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone looking to expand their learning and undertake their IT Solutions Technician (Level 3) apprenticeship*, which will be fully supported by the University. You will be able to apply your learning to the day-to-day responsibilities of the role, consistently developing your skillset and showcasing your knowledge.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Support with updating tickets and maintaining documentation and records for operational efficiency.
  • Provide excellent customer service and keep customers updated throughout their ticket’s lifecycle.
  • Assist with setting up technology for new starters and support with the onboarding process.

Our main requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English language Grade C or 4 or above.
  • Experience working with laptops, peripherals and printers.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Enthusiasm for the latest technology advances.

*You must have been a resident in the UK for the last three years in order to qualify for apprenticeship funding.
