Role: Student Services Coordinator

Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,720 and £29,870 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Student Services Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Student Services Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Careers Guidance & Programme Delivery – Provides impartial careers advice to students and applicants, supports UCAS applications, and contributes to the design and delivery of a cross-college careers programme including group sessions and progression planning.
  • Student Support & Welfare – Offers personal support or referrals for pastoral, health, welfare, and financial matters, including bursary advice, benefit applications, and HE funding guidance.
  • Safeguarding & Compliance – Maintains accurate safeguarding records, promotes child protection policies, and ensures all advice and information provided is current and compliant with college procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Customer Service – Builds strong relationships with internal teams and external agencies, delivers excellent customer service, and represents the college at events and promotional activities.
  • Teamwork & College Contribution – Collaborates across departments, supports enrolment and college events, contributes to quality assurance and innovation projects, and participates in training and development aligned with TBCG values.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Professional Standards – Holds Level 2 English and Maths, a relevant Level 3 qualification, and either a Level 6 CEIAG qualification or willingness to work towards it, with a Youth Mental Health First Aid certificate desirable.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Able to communicate confidently with students and staff at all levels, write formal and informal correspondence, and maintain a professional telephone manner.
  • Administrative & Organisational Strengths – Demonstrates high-level administration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to plan, organise, and meet deadlines while maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience & Customer Focus – Experienced in working with diverse groups, organising events, and delivering support both 1:1 and in groups, with a strong commitment to customer service and student wellbeing.
  • Flexibility & Team Contribution – Friendly and adaptable, with a willingness to travel across sites, contribute to team goals, and uphold safeguarding responsibilities and college values.
