An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Horticulturist, with a passion for training and inspiring young people. As a practical Instructor, you will support the teaching staff and students across all courses within the College’s specialist Horticulture programmes, other duties will include resourcing plant material and tools for the students and maintaining equipment and resources. There will be a requirement to ensure the gardens/grounds and practice areas are maintained in a sustainable way and meet exemplary horticultural standards at all times. You will be responsible for liaising with the Gunnersbury Park Manager to secure practical work for students as well as developing additional relationships with local external stakeholders

The ideal candidate will bring a broad range of industry skills, including the ability to operate, maintain, and repair horticultural machinery, as well as experience working in a training or education setting. A Level 2 qualification in Horticulture is essential, and holding a PA1/PA6 certificate is desirable.

This role requires someone who is highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work flexibly and independently to support the smooth delivery of practical courses and assessments.

You will work in conjunction with Practical Instructor colleagues from other campuses to effectively plan and manage the day-to-day operations of the site. Travel to other campuses may be required to provide additional support when needed.

Please note that this is a physically demanding role involving year-round outdoor work. This is a part-time role working 28.8 hours per work. The actual salary is £21,471.20 – £24,560 inclusive of London Weighting.
