Higher Education remains a priority area for growth, through our University Centre Somerset (UCS) brand and we have continued to move forward with our plans to seek full degree awarding powers.

The Sport, Protective Services and Hospitality department have established HE programmes in Sport and Exercise Science and Public Services with Criminology. There are exciting opportunities to further develop our Public Services with Criminology offer and also create new Sport, Coaching and Exercise Health provision within the University Centre of Somerset department for Professional Skills and Service Industries.

You will be responsible for the overall management, delivery and performance of the HE Sports Science and Coaching degree and Public Services and Criminology level programmes along with delivering Further Education study programmes of all levels to drive internal progression.

We are expecting the new post holder to have experience within the Sports Coaching, Sports Development or Sports Science fields and/or Public Services and be able to draw on that experience to bring the curriculum to life. This is an exciting post that will require the post holder to maintain and develop excellent working relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring that learners can develop an appreciation for expectations and requirements of having a career within Sport and Public Services. To this end, the person appointed to the post will be expected to play a proactive role in growing links locally, regionally and nationally with key external agencies.

You would be working in an environment where you will be encouraged to devote time to innovative teaching approaches which will stimulate the learners and ensure that the provision continues to be bigger, better and different.

There will be an expectation of the post holder to have the pre-requisite experience and appropriate qualifications to be able to co-ordinate and plan the delivery and assessment of the HE programmes, allowing learners to reach their very best potential.
