Role: Schools and Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Kingsway Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is £24,720 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 32 hours per week – 40 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Schools and Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Marketing department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Schools and Community Engagement Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Event Delivery & IAG Support – Attends school events and assemblies to present and provide information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to prospective students and their support networks.
- Recruitment & Engagement Activities – Coordinates and delivers recruitment events with schools, colleges, EHE groups, and community organisations, ensuring a professional and inclusive experience.
- Event Planning & Evaluation – Produces event plans, staff briefings, and post-event reports, managing feedback surveys and implementing improvements to enhance visitor satisfaction.
- Marketing & Representation – Supports Open Days and represents the Directorate at internal and external meetings, promoting the College’s services and reputation.
- Compliance & Development – Upholds safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and actively engages in training and development to support role effectiveness.
About you:
- Qualifications & IT Skills – Holds GCSEs in Maths and English (A–C), Level 4 IAG qualification or willingness to achieve, and IT Level 2 or equivalent, with strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Event & Presentation Experience – Experienced in supporting and delivering promotional events, including presentations to large student groups, with a confident and professional approach.
- Organisation & Communication – Excellent time management, customer service, and communication skills across all formats, with the ability to work independently and maintain accurate records.
- Teamwork & Values Alignment – Works effectively in a team, contributes positively, and upholds organisational values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty) in all aspects of the role.
- Flexibility & Professional Conduct – Willing to work across sites and outside core hours, with a positive attitude, driving licence, and commitment to safeguarding and maintaining appropriate boundaries with young people.
