RES Learning Support Assistants

Various hours available on a casual basis

Working upto 36 weeks per year (Term Time Only plus 1 training week)

£12.46 per hour plus holiday pay

Rotherham/Dearne Valley Colleges, Rotherham and North Notts College, Worksop

 

Rotherham Education Services (RES) supply casual and temporary staffing to the RNN Group. The RNN Group consists of Rotherham, Dearne Valley and North Notts colleges.

 

The Role

In this rewarding role, you will provide in class/out of class support to assist students with learning difficulties/disabilities to help them achieve their best possible outcomes. This may be supporting with personal care and/or literacy and numeracy. You will be a key part of the Student Support team, and will assist in the planning, preparation & reviewing of learning in conjunction with relevant curriculum staff, providing feedback and carrying out reviews as appropriate to ensure students are making expected progress and working towards outcomes.

 

You will have the personal skills to be able to effectively support students, dealing with challenging behaviour when it arises, and helping them to develop their own coping strategies.

 

 

You will:

·       hold experience supporting students in an educational setting

·       hold experience or/and knowledge of SEND, ALS and EHCP’s.

·       hold GCSE A-C in English & Maths or be prepared to work towards

·       be flexible and reliable

·       have good interpersonal and communication skills

·       have good IT skills specifically Microsoft and Google Packages

If you are successful, we will try our best to offer hours at that college. If there are no students that still require support at that site, an alternative may be offered.
