About the role:
We are currently seeking a King’s Trust Volunteer to join our Community Learning department at The Bedford College Group.
As a King’s Trust Volunteer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Programme Support & Delivery – Assists the King’s Trust Team Leader in delivering the 12-week Team Programme, supporting learners with basic skills and contributing to a positive learning experience.
- Learner Engagement & Recruitment – Supports recruitment efforts, helps set up individual learning plans, and provides tailored tuition to meet learners’ educational needs.
- Placement & Promotion – Aids in sourcing work placements and promoting the programme to employers and community organisations to enhance learner opportunities.
- Administration & Compliance – Assists with record keeping, attends meetings and training, and ensures learners adhere to health and safety requirements
- Safeguarding & Development – Upholds safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards, and actively engages in training and development relevant to the role.
About you:
- Qualifications & Knowledge – Holds GCSE English (A–C or equivalent), with demonstrable understanding of equality, diversity, health and safety, and work placement requirements.
- Experience & Behavioural Insight – Experienced in supporting placements, managing challenging behaviour, and delivering basic skills to a diverse range of learners.
- Skills & Team Contribution – Strong organisational and time management skills, effective communicator, and a positive team player who values others’ contributions and promotes the organisation’s reputation.
- Values & Professional Conduct – Works in line with core values (Caring, Continuous Improvement, Educational Excellence, Inclusive, Student Centred, Teamwork), maintaining professionalism and respectful relationships.
- Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding, continuous learning, and flexible working across all service locations, with awareness of health and safety and appropriate boundaries with vulnerable groups.

What is an Associate?
Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
