Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £29,870 and £39,696 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 22.5 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Assessor and Industry Placement Coordinator in Childcare and Health and Social Care to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Assessor and Industry Placement Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Industry Placement Coordination – Implements work experience policy, sources high-quality placements, ensures equal opportunities, and maintains accurate records across systems like Grofar.
  • Employer Engagement & Assessment – Builds strong relationships with employers and stakeholders, coordinates visits and observations, and ensures compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Student Support & Monitoring – Provides in-placement and in-class support, monitors attendance and progress, and delivers constructive feedback to help students succeed.
  • Quality Assurance & Innovation – Maintains accurate documentation, contributes to departmental meetings, develops engaging learning materials, and promotes best practices in assessment.
  • Compliance & Professional Standards – Upholds safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and participates in training and development while managing time effectively and adapting to evolving responsibilities.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Technical Skills – Holds a Level 3+ qualification in Early Years, GCSEs in Maths and English (A–C), and is either qualified or willing to work towards an assessor qualification, with strong Microsoft Office and data tracking system experience.
  • Experience & Diversity Awareness – Proven success in training and assessing learners, up-to-date subject knowledge, and experience working effectively with diverse groups while promoting equality and inclusion.
