Location: Tresham College – Wellingborough Campus

Salary: £13.20 per hour

Hours/Weeks: Various TBC

Contract Type: Sessional – Hourly Paid

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Associate Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Invigilator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Exam Conduct & Compliance – Ensure all examinations are carried out in strict accordance with Awarding Body regulations and internal procedures, maintaining integrity and fairness throughout.
  • Security & Confidentiality – Safeguard exam materials and candidate information before, during, and after exams, ensuring secure handling and storage at all times.
  • Candidate Support & Monitoring – Assist candidates with access arrangements, monitor behaviour to prevent malpractice, and maintain accurate attendance and incident records.
  • Operational Duties – Set up exam rooms, manage seating plans, issue papers, and complete all required documentation, including transport logs and reports.
  • Statutory Responsibilities – Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with College policies.

About you:

  • Essential Qualifications – GCSEs (A–C/4–9) in English and Maths or willingness to achieve Level 2 equivalents, with experience using Microsoft applications like Excel and Teams.
  • Customer-Focused Experience – Proven ability to work effectively in customer service environments, consistently creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for students and visitors.
  • Teamwork & Initiative – Demonstrated success working both independently and collaboratively, contributing positively to team goals and respecting others’ expertise.
  • Organisation & Communication – Strong organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and confident communication face-to-face and in writing.
  • Flexibility & Compliance – Willingness to travel between sites, work flexibly, and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety standards.

What is an Associate?
Associates work on a short term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you. Typically an agreement runs from January to December and may be renewed thereafter.
