Job Title: English Catch-Up Tutor
Status: Permanent, 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)

About the role
We’re looking for a committed and compassionate individual to join our English and Maths team as a Catch-Up Tutor. In this role, you’ll work with small groups of learners who need extra support to succeed in English — helping them build confidence, close key gaps, and develop the skills they need to thrive.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting learners in small groups and one-to-one where needed
- Helping students build confidence in core English skills
- Collaborating with teaching staff to reinforce learning
- Encouraging engagement and supporting progress tracking
The successful candidate will have:
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Ability to motivate and relate to young people
- Confident using Microsoft Office and digital learning tools
- Experience in education or tutoring would be desirable
- A teaching qualification (or working towards one) would be desirable

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment.
