Are you passionate about creating safe and supportive environments for learners and staff? We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Officer to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining high standards of health and safety across our college and partner sites.
In this role, you will support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring that all college activities, including student placements and apprenticeships, are conducted in safe and healthy environments. You will also provide expert advice, conduct inspections and audits, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our health and safety practices.
Essential Criteria
NEBOSH National General Certificate
GCSEs in Maths, English, and two other subjects (Grade C/4 or above)
ICT Level 2 qualification
Full UK driving licence
Previous experience in a similar health and safety role
Key Responsibilities
Conduct risk assessments and inspections across college and employer sites
Provide health and safety advice to staff, students, and external partners
Support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations
Deliver health and safety training and toolkits to staff and students
Assist with fire safety procedures, environmental monitoring, and business continuity planning
