Salary: £32,040 to £35,179 per annum. Plus generous benefits, including:

About the Role
York College is committed to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all students, including promoting their mental health and well-being. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to lead our dedicated Wellbeing team.
As Wellbeing Team Leader, you will provide specialist assessment, guidance and support in the areas of wellbeing and mental health for York College students and apprentices. You will work closely with the Safeguarding and Wellbeing team to develop and deliver internal support services, ensuring students are well-supported in their academic and personal lives.
As an important member of the Student Experience Team, you will work closely with colleagues to support students and apprentices, lead and manage the Wellbeing Team, triage wellbeing referrals, ensure workloads are progressed. You will work with and refer to specialist external agencies, promote training and mental health awareness across college, and compile reports for the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Manager.
The role will support to develop students’ resilience and independence to learning so it enhances their student experience. The successful candidate will also support cross college mental health and wellbeing initiatives for students and staff via college wide events and appropriate workshops and activities.
About the Person
You will have the desire to lead a team and make a difference to young people along with a commitment to enabling and empowering them to become actively involved in their own wellbeing. You will have excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills and experience of successfully accessing and managing risk such as crisis management in relation to people who pose a danger to themselves and/or others and the ability to triage referrals appropriately.
You will have a track record of successful collaborative working with other teams (internal and external), working knowledge of other agencies supporting young people. You will also have knowledge of, and skills in managing a wellbeing / mental health / counselling service, including knowledge and understanding of BACP regulations and mental health or social care.
About the College
We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.
We are proud to be part of a consortium of colleges and employers developing the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology (IoT), designed to increase higher level technical skills for employers.
