Accountancy & Finance Trainer
Department; Apprenticeships
Salary: £28,964 to £32,532 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent Full time 37 hours per week
Reference: REC2211 | Closing Date: Sunday, 3rd August 2025
The Opportunity
Based in our friendly Apprenticeships team, you’ll play a key role in helping our future accountants develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Working with a caseload of apprentices and their employers, you’ll provide personalised support and meaningful feedback, guiding each learner from their first session right through to successful completion. You’ll deliver high-quality training that combines face-to-face sessions, remote learning and one-to-one coaching – all aligned to AAT apprenticeship standards (Levels 2 to 4), including Assistant Accountant and Professional Accounting Technician pathways.
You’ll bring your subject knowledge to life in a way that’s relevant, engaging, and practical. Whether you’re supporting our learners to prepare for End Point Assessment or helping them apply their knowledge in the workplace, your input will make a real difference to their progress. You’ll take a tailored approach to each learner, identifying any additional support needs early on and adapting your delivery to suit different styles and experiences. Your goal is to stretch each learner’s potential and help them achieve their ambitions.
You will also work closely with employers where you’ll build strong relationships that support our learners’ development and reflect real business needs. You’ll carry out workplace visits, complete observations and reviews, and ensure learning is properly embedded in the job. By maintaining regular contact and offering practical advice, you’ll help employers create an effective and supportive learning environment.
Outside of the classroom, you’ll manage your own planning, track learner progress, and contribute to ongoing quality and compliance processes. You’ll be involved in recruitment, inductions, and assessments, as well as maintaining clear records and supporting functional skills delivery where needed. With a focus on continuous improvement, you’ll help shape a positive and supportive learning experience – from start to finish.
This role offers you the opportunity to make a real impact on the next generation of accounting professionals. You’ll have the chance to use your industry expertise in a meaningful way, supporting our learners as they grow in confidence, develop valuable skills, and progress in their careers.
About You
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in accountancy or finance, ideally within in a supervisory position. You’ll bring real-world insight into your teaching, helping our learners connect theory to practice in a meaningful way. With hands-on experience of delivering apprenticeship programmes, including preparing learners for End Point Assessment, you’ll understand what’s needed to support apprentices through every stage of their journey.
You’ll have a clear understanding of apprenticeship standards and compliance procedures, and you’ll be confident in delivering high-quality training – whether that’s face-to-face, online, one-to-one, or in groups. If you already hold a teaching or assessor qualification, that’s a bonus, but if not, you should be open to working towards one.
We’re seeking someone who’s self-motivated, adaptable, and able to stay focused under pressure. You’ll be comfortable managing your own caseload and keeping everything on track to meet deadlines. You should also be reflective and open to new ways of working – always looking to improve and bring fresh ideas to your delivery.
Strong communication skills are key – you’ll be building supportive, professional relationships with learners and employers, providing regular feedback, and keeping everyone engaged and informed. If you enjoy helping others grow, bring a positive, solutions-focused approach, and are ready to play a key part in supporting apprentices to succeed, this could be a great next step for you.
