We have an exciting position available for a Director of Marketing and Communications on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £50,537 to £60,829 per annum. 

As of August 2025, this role will benefit from a 3% pay award and the salary will rise £52,054 to £62,152 per annum.

The Director of Marketing and Communications Role:

As our Director of Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications strategy that drives student recruitment, enhances the College’s reputation and strengthens engagement with key stakeholders. This role will lead the marketing and communications team in the delivery of  impactful campaigns across digital, print and events to support the College’s vision and strategic goals.

Responsibilities as our Director of Marketing and Communications will include:

  • Develop and implement the College’s marketing and communications strategy aligned with its strategic priorities
  • Lead on the development of the brand, ensuring consistent core messaging, values and tone; tailored to the needs of our audience segments
  • Provide strategic marketing advice to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring value for money and return on investment
  • Use data and insights to target key demographics and enhance recruitment strategies
  • Lead, plan and deliver innovative marketing campaigns and events to support student recruitment across all course offerings
  • Develop relationships with community organisations, key advocates and employers to drive enrolment
  • Act as the College’s main contact for media relations, ensuring that all press releases and responses to media inquiries are of the highest quality
  • Lead the creation of compelling content, including prospectuses, newsletters, case studies and visual assets
  • Coordinate internal communications to ensure staff are informed of key developments and initiatives
  • Lead and manage the marketing and communications team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration
  • Oversee team development and performance through regular appraisals, training and mentoring
  • Ensure effective delegation and delivery of projects, ensuring deadlines and KPIs are met
  • Oversee the development of a relevant and current digital marketing strategy that keeps pace with technological advances, including the college website, email campaigns, and social media platforms
  • Analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns to support student recruitment and provide regular reports to senior leadership
  • Use data analytics to inform decision-making and improve marketing outcomes

As our Director of Marketing and Communications, you’ll ideally have:

  • Demonstrably high levels of literacy
  • Ability to use Mathematics as applicable to the role, for example data analysis
  • A degree level qualification in Marketing and Communications or a related field or the equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience in marketing and communications in values driven marketing
  • Experience in leadership of diverse teams
  • Experience in steering a department within a large organization
  • Experience of successfully working with diverse communities and stakeholders
  • Expertise in digital marketing, including SEO, PPC and social media
