Foundation Learning is a nationally recognised leader in inclusive education, recently awarded the prestigious RCU Beacon Award for Support for Students (2023/24). As part of a college rated Outstanding by Ofsted—including a specific Outstanding judgement for High Needs provision in the November 2024 inspection—Foundation Learning plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, personalised study programmes.

The post-holder will be motivated and enthusiastic and a strong team player who strives to deliver the best possible outcomes for our learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), barriers to learning and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). They will co-ordinate highly effective Teaching, Learning and Assessment on their allocated courses and specialist area.

The role will involve maximising learners’ potential to make positive progress towards their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes, English and maths Functional Skills, aspirations and ultimately support sustainable destinations. This will involve leading a successful team of staff to contribute to the college’s expectations of quality, supporting staff to build personalised programmes for individual learners on your courses and develop the curriculum in partnership with the staff team and Curriculum Manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience with working with learners with SEND/SEMH, English and maths delivery and have a specialist area of expertise that will benefit the department. They will promote inclusive practice and deliver high quality and develop individualised teaching, learning and assessment approaches.
