Foundation Learning is the 23/24 winner of the RCU Beacon Award for Support for Students and an outstanding area of the college that provides a number of highly successful study programmes for learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), barriers to learning and Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).
The post-holder will be motivated, enthusiastic and a strong team player who strives to deliver the best possible outcomes for our learners. They will deliver highly effective Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA) throughout a timetable within Foundation Learning. This role is focused on our Supported Internship programmes and alongside a focus on TLA will also be job coaching, building partnerships and an aim to support each learner to gain sustainable paid employment at the end of their programme.
The role will involve maximising learners’ potential to make positive progress towards their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and/or personalised outcomes, aspirations and ultimately support sustainable destinations. The ideal candidate will have experience with working with learners with SEND/SEMH and have a specialist area of expertise in Supported Employment that will benefit the department. They will promote inclusive practice, deliver high quality lessons and develop individualised teaching, learning and assessment approaches.
