Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £29,870 and £39,696 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Business Engagement Manager to join our Business Development department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Business Engagement Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Employer Relationship Management – Serve as the main point of contact for SME employers, managing existing partnerships and securing new ones to support apprenticeships, T-Levels, commercial training, and student opportunities.
- Business Development – Conduct training needs analyses, present tailored proposals, negotiate fees, and use CRM systems to track leads, pipeline activity, and employer engagement.
- Cross-College Collaboration – Work closely with curriculum, work experience, and marketing teams to align employer needs with college offerings and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Strategic Engagement – Represent the college at events and networks, lead employer forums, gather feedback, and use market intelligence to inform curriculum development and business growth.
- Professional Standards & Compliance – Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies, contribute to quality assurance processes, and support college-wide activities such as open days and exams.
About you:
- Qualifications & Sector Knowledge – Holds or is working towards a Level 3 qualification in sales, customer service, or marketing, with Level 2 Maths and English, and a strong understanding of apprenticeships, commercial training, and the FE sector.
- Sales & CRM Expertise – Proven ability to design and manage sales campaigns, meet targets, and use CRM systems effectively to manage client relationships and analyse performance data.
- Communication & Relationship Building – Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships, influence stakeholders, and promote the College’s services professionally.
- Professionalism & Values – Demonstrates commitment to the College’s values (Student Centred, Educational Excellence, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Caring, Inclusive) and upholds high standards of conduct and representation.
- Flexibility & Commitment – Self-motivated and adaptable, with a full UK driving licence, willingness to travel, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, continuous development, and health & safety.
