Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we have a position available for a Lecturer in Beauty Therapy on a part -time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 – £39,198 per annum, pro rata. As of August 2025, this role will benefit from a 3% pay award.

The Lecturer in Beauty Therapy Role:

As our Lecturer in Beauty Therapy, you will provide a flexible and responsive approach to students in the training or work place environments and undertake skills development and competence assessment as required. To work as an integral part of the team where the overall aim will be the development and operation of students learning and assessment.

 

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Beauty Therapy will include:

·       Contribute to the development and delivery of a range of educational programs including identifying learning objectives; determining, designing and producing study material; planning course/study program delivery.

·       Contribute to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.

·       Ensure that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.

·       Provide academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.

·       Create an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment.

·       Manage student issues within agreed protocols.

·       Undertake such other reasonable duties as the line manager may require from time to time and review this Job Description annually with the line manager.

·       Participate in the College’s appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate

·       Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others

·       Pursue the achievement and integration of equal opportunities throughout all The College’s activities

 

As our Lecturer in Beauty Therapy, you’ll ideally have:

·       Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths

·       Teaching Qualifications (or evidence of working towards)

Level 3 Professional (vocational) qualifications in Beauty Therapy or Higher
Assessor & IQA Awards
·       Experience of facilitating learning for students in a Further Education setting.

·       Vocational expertise and experience in relative establishments within the hair & barbering industry

·       Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in field(s) of expertise of Beauty services

·       Knowledge of issues relating to equal opportunities and cultural diversity

·       Knowledge of and commitment to Safeguarding Children and vulnerable adult legislation

·       Relevant knowledge & expertise of the Beauty industry

·       Evidence of upskilling in latest industry techniques and trends
