Salary: £32,040 – £35,179 per annum, Plus generous benefits, including:

About the role
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Early Years team as an Assessor. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and inspire a diverse group of learners as they work towards their Early Years qualifications.
In this role, you will:
- Visit students in their placement settings to assess their progress against awarding body standards
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help learners achieve their goals
- Liaise effectively with placement providers to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Address any issues or concerns that may arise during placement
- Play a key role in helping students stay on track and succeed in their qualifications
Some evening work may be required to meet the needs of learners and placement schedules.

About the Person
We are seeking someone who is:
- Passionate about Early Years education – with a strong understanding of child development and a commitment to high-quality learning experiences.
- Supportive and encouraging – able to motivate and guide learners of all backgrounds to reach their full potential.
- Organised and reliable – capable of managing their own schedule, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate assessment records.
- A confident communicator – skilled in building positive relationships with students, placement providers, and colleagues.
- Adaptable and solution-focused – able to respond to challenges with a calm, proactive approach.
- Experienced in assessment – ideally with a relevant assessor qualification and experience in assessing Early Years qualifications but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Level 3 in a relevant Early Years Qualification and holding an appropriate assessor qualification is desirable. An Internal Quality Assurance qualification would be an advantage; however appropriate training will be provided.
The role is fixed-term for 12 Months.
About the College
We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.
