Lessons are purposeful and rarely disrupted. Teachers are able to teach, students are able to learn. High-quality pastoral support helps students to regulate, learn from their mistakes, and become you citizens. Clear classroom routines, expectations, and centralised processes, including detentions, are in place to support staff and maximise every minute on learning.

Key Duties

Be able to develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences to all students.

Be an aspirational professional who is enthusiastic, influential, and committed to working in pursuit of success for the academy and its learners.

To set high expectations for all pupils, to deepen their knowledge and understanding and to maximise their achievement.

To assess pupils’ work systematically and use the results to inform future planning, teaching, and curricular development.

The successful candidate will have

Candidate must be able to teach GCSE Resistant Materials / Engineering Design

A ‘can do’ attitude, hard-worker and a mathematics degree would be fantastic.

Good behaviour management skills and a sound knowledge of the KS3, KS4 curriculum KS5 desirable.

Resilience and the ability to work as part of a team and undertake pastoral duties as part of a year team.

An ECT, NQT or a more experienced practitioner understanding GCSE design technology and AQA Engineering

Detailed subject knowledge.

Key issues in the teaching of Design Technology.

Effective teaching practices, including differentiation.

Aligned to school vision and values

Aligned to the schools approach to T&L; use of the TSPA Playbook.

JOB SPECIFICS

START DATE: September 2025 or January 2026

SALARY: AST 1-6 (dependent on experience) Actual Salary will be pro rata

CONTRACT: Permanent, Part Time, 4 days per week Monday – Thursday.

The Trust reserves the right to interview and appoint a suitable candidate before the deadline date.
