Job Details

Due to internal progression, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Quality department as a Learning & Quality Manager.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Quality team, contributing to raising the standards of Learning Teaching and Assessment (LTA) across the College. You will work as part of a team to ensure the quality of education on study programs within the college, across both FE and HE. You will work closely with a team of talented Quality Improvement Analysts.

 

Responsibilities include:

Improving student experience through driving high standards in LTA and Quality.
Ensuring overall outstanding quality of provision across curriculum areas through reviewing provision, learning walks, quality interventions, support, coaching and mentoring.
Ensuring that Quality KPIs are met.
Ensuring that the Quality of Education Review process is well organised and monitored and reports are of a high quality and lead to improvements in quality of provision.
Ensuring curriculum area student satisfaction benchmarks are monitored each year.
Ensuring equality and diversity targets are embedded across the College.
Carrying out a schedule of internal audits and reviews to ensure compliance and consistency of quality.
Supporting and contributing to the self-assessment process at all levels, including contributing to and monitoring the progress of the quality improvement plans and preparing reports.
Responsible for the performance, management and development of a team of Quality Improvement Analysts and Quality Advocates, including setting targets, monitoring KPIs and managing performance.
Deputise for the Head of Quality where appropriate.
Ensure that the 16-19 provision within the curriculum area meets the requirements and guidelines for study programmes including compliance with maths and English conditions of funding and work experience.
Responsible for improving the quality of LTA across the College, including setting targets and monitoring KPIs.
Undertake the duties of an observer and ‘critical friend’ with a caseload of observations and joint lesson observations across varying curriculum areas.
Liaise with and feedback to Head of Departments
Participate in moderation and standardisation activities to standardise and improve on the observation of the LTA process.

Education & Training

A degree or appropriate Level 5 professional qualification
A recognised teaching qualification.
GCSE A*- C or nationally recognised level 2 qualification in Maths and English or equivalent. (e.g. CSE 1, O Level A – C) Or prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience

Academic experience in Further Education, Higher Education and/or Apprenticeship provision.
Significant evidence of a successful track record of TLA, including taking an innovative approach to TLA.
Experience in improving the quality of TLA.
Management experience of a grade 1 or grade 2 curriculum area
Experience in carrying out formal, informal and peer observations and learning walks.
Experience of mechanisms used to evaluate the learning experience.
Experience and evidence of developing good quality TLA resources including ILT.
Experience in organising and delivering CPD and staff development events related to TLA.
Experience in liaising with awarding organisations to ensure the College fulfils their requirements
