Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, are recruiting for a Lecturer in Aviation, Travel & Tourism on a part-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 – £39,198 per annum (pro rata for part time). As of August 2025, this role will benefit from a 3% pay award.

The Lecturer in Aviation, Travel & Tourism Role:

As our Lecturer in Aviation, Travel & Tourism, you will deliver high-quality and effective teaching and learning to Bournemouth and Poole College students from Level 1-3 Aviation- Cabin Crew, Travel & Tourism. The post holder will also act as a personal tutor to students.

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Aviation, Travel & Tourism will include:

·        To contribute to the development and delivery of all our Aviation- Cabin Crew, Travel & Tourism courses

·        To contribute to high-quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods based on current best available practice

·        To create an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment

·        To provide academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures

·        To participate in the College’s appraisal process and to undertake any training that may be appropriate

·        Scheduled teaching, student assignments and tutorials

·        Distance learning support for groups of students

·        Employer and workplace/work placement visits

·        Educational guidance and counselling

·        Supervision of learning programmes

·        Personal tutoring e.g., the carrying out of individual reviews with students, the delivery of group and individual tutorials, workshops. This may be delivered in person or through distance learning

·        Support activities as appropriate within the Learning Resource Centres

·        Support activities relating to employability, work experience, volunteering

·        Plan and run educational trips and visits as required for qualification (time spent off-site)

As our Lecturer in Aviation, Travel & Tourism, you’ll ideally have:

 

·        Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths

·        Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years

·        Minimum Level 3 or Graduate in the relevant subject area, such as L3 BTEC Travel & Tourism, NCFE Level 2 Introduction to Cabin Crew

·        Airline training qualifications

·        Vocational expertise within the Travel & Tourism and Aviation Industry, including Air Cabin Crew

·        Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including word, excel, PowerPoint

·        Current evidence-based practice in Aviation- Cabin crew, Travel & Tourism Industry
