Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £24,720 and £29,870 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Support Internship Job Coach to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Support Internship Job Coach, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Student Support & Inclusion – Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEND across classroom, community, and workplace settings, promoting independence and inclusion.
- Personal & Physical Care – Deliver personal care and physical support as needed, including administering medication in line with college procedures and training.
- Workplace & Life Skills Development – Support students in developing life and employability skills, building positive relationships with employers and families to ensure successful placement outcomes.
- Progress Monitoring & Collaboration – Assist in developing and tracking individual learning plans, maintain accurate records, and contribute to reviews and reports in collaboration with teaching staff.
- College Engagement & Safeguarding – Participate in meetings, events, and training while upholding safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and college policies at all times.
About you:
- Qualifications & Knowledge – Educated to Level 2 in English and Maths, with a relevant Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards it, and a solid understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience & IT Skills – Experienced in supporting young people with SEND in educational, care, or work placement settings, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Communication & Teamwork – Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining accurate records.
- Professionalism & Attitude – Demonstrates high performance, a positive and adaptable attitude, and contributes to a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
- Safeguarding & Integrity – Committed to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, and promoting the college’s reputation through responsible and respectful conduct.
