Land-Based Services – T Level Chief Examiner (Remote)

Would you be interested in supporting the delivery of T-Levels for Land-base services?
We are looking for a Chief Examiner to join us and a marking team to ensure the standards of this industry are maintained and to play an important part in the onward journey of Land-based services in the UK.
The Chief Examiner will need to cover 1 or more of the following pathways:
- Floristry
- Land-based Engineering
This important role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development.
The Chief Examiner will ensure question papers are prepared ahead of our dated exam series and are ready candidates at the required standard, error free and high quality. They will support a team of markers during standardisation activities, sampling and providing on-going support during marking – and will then support setting grade boundaries for each examination series. The Chief Examiner will also provide guidance on occasional technical queries throughout the year where needed, and support preparation of our task-based synoptic assignments.
The Chief Examiner should have strong industry experience with a passion in supporting learners in an important step in their journey, with a commitment to quality and high standards. Experience in writing and reviewing question papers is welcomed but not necessary.
The Chief Examiner will also provide key technical advice and guidance to support assessment development and delivery across the year, when required
The key timelines for each of the key activities the Principal Examiner is involved in are outlined below:
Dated Entry Question Paper – June Exam Series:
Assessment Production: Ongoing throughout the year outside of key marking and awarding windows
Standardisation and Marking Window: June – July
Awarding/Standard Setting: July – Mid August
Dated Entry Question Paper: November Exam Series:
Assessment Production: Ongoing throughout the year outside of key marking and awarding windows
Standardisation and Marking Window: November – December
Awarding/Standard Setting: December – January
Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis. Successful applicants for the Chief Examiner positions may be asked to carry out a short task, attend a telephone interview and/or attend training as part of the second stage of recruitment, before being confirmed in role.
