Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term – Full Time – Fixed until 03 July 2026
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Business to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching & Curriculum Delivery – Plan, deliver, assess, and verify Business courses across various levels, tailoring content to meet individual student needs and awarding body standards.
- Student Support & Progress Monitoring – Guide students to success through regular reviews, progress tracking, and timely interventions, while maintaining accurate records and communication.
- Curriculum Development & Industry Engagement – Contribute to course innovation, develop vocational links, and stay current with industry trends to enhance learning experiences.
- Quality Assurance & Administration – Participate in internal verification, course reviews, and quality processes, while completing all administrative tasks to required deadlines.
- College Engagement & Compliance – Support marketing events, interviews, and trips, while upholding safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and engaging in ongoing professional development.
About you:
- Qualifications & Professional Development – Holds a degree in a Business-related subject, with GCSEs in English and Maths, and either has or is working towards a teaching qualification, with recent CPD in Business education.
- Teaching Experience & Curriculum Knowledge – Experienced in delivering and assessing Business programmes in FE, and T Levels, with strong knowledge of awarding bodies like BTEC, NCFE, Gateway, and City & Guilds.
- Inclusive & Student-Centred Approach – Skilled in adapting teaching for diverse learners, promoting equality and diversity, and creating a welcoming, supportive learning environment.
- Professionalism & Team Contribution – Demonstrates strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a commitment to team collaboration and upholding the College’s values.
- Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding responsibilities, continuous learning, and flexible working across multiple locations, with awareness of health and safety standards.
