Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning for and supervising students internally excluded
- Delivering the curriculum offer for the students attending the exclusion centre and contributing to its design and structure, reducing potential permanent exclusion by including rigorous behaviour for learning intervention
- Liaising with teaching staff and HOYs to ensure appropriate work is set and appropriate provision is in place, and with parents/carers and relevant APs and subject staff to ensure smooth transition to and from internal exclusion
- Following up on truancy or attendance concerns
- Being a role model for the students in the exclusion centre and undertaking supportive conversations, while providing very clear expectations of conduct and ensuring follow up action is taken for students failing to meet Academy code of conduct
- Following through any issues to do with behaviour and student safety as required by the Academy Leadership Group
- Updating and reviewing the MIS (Bromcom) and Behaviour Triage document, informing SLT and HOYs when a student reaches a trigger point
- Entering detentions emailed to the behaviour group during the school day
- Supporting in the development of appropriate behavioural intervention strategies
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Knowledge of issues surrounding student welfare e.g. attendance at school, Child Protection and health related issues
- Experience of working in welfare service, social services or schools
- High quality ICT skills to promote effective administration, organisation, communication and management
- Excellent listening skills and sensitivity in complex situations
- The ability to encourage and inspire young people to achieve.
