Location: Central Bedfordshire College – The Incuba Dunstable

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Tutor/Tutorial Lecturer to join our Construction and Building Services department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Purpose & Planning – Deliver engaging, up-to-date life skills education through well-planned lessons and resources, ensuring learners gain practical knowledge and progression opportunities.
  • Teaching & Facilitation – Lead small-group or one-on-one sessions, using varied teaching methods, real-world applications, and learner feedback to enhance engagement and outcomes.
  • Assessment & Monitoring – Design and assess assignments, track learner progress, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support achievement and development
  • Classroom & Resource Management – Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment, manage behaviour and resources, and contribute to risk assessments and lesson logistics.
  • Professionalism & Development – Embrace continuous improvement, uphold safeguarding and equality standards, and contribute to team meetings, course development, and wider college initiatives.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Industry Experience – Hold or be working towards a teaching qualification (e.g. QTLS), with Level 2 Maths and English, up-to-date vocational skills, and relevant industry experience.
  • Teaching & Delivery Skills – Capable of teaching across vocational areas and learner levels using varied approaches, with strong presentation and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge & Compliance – In-depth understanding of current technologies, quality assurance systems, and health and safety practices relevant to the vocational field.
  • Professional Attributes – A reflective practitioner with strong problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills, who thrives in a target-driven environment.
  • Values & Motivation – A flexible, team-oriented educator committed to learner success, continuous professional development, and staying current in their specialism.
