Salary/Benefits: Salary up to £39,696 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking an EHCP Coordinator to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a EHCP Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- EHCP Student Support – Deliver high-quality support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and High Needs Funding (HNF), ensuring smooth transitions, personalised mentoring, and progression aligned with student aspirations.
- Monitoring & Review – Lead annual and termly reviews, prepare statutory reports, and collaborate with curriculum teams to track progress and ensure EHCP outcomes are met.
- Staff Training & Collaboration – Provide ongoing training and raise awareness among curriculum staff about EHCP and HNF needs, maintaining strong professional relationships across departments.
- Quality & Compliance – Conduct classroom observations, contribute to performance monitoring and self-assessment, and ensure all activities comply with safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
- Engagement & Development – Participate in open days, meetings, and training; maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHCP/HNF processes and support the college’s vision through flexible, student-centred practice.
About you:
- Qualifications & Knowledge – A Levels or equivalent, GCSEs in English and Maths, and graduate-level or vocational training in Education, Health, or Social Sciences, with strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and post-16 education.
- Experience & Expertise – Proven experience supporting young people with SEND and EHCPs, leading reviews and meetings, and working in further education or similar settings with diverse learners.
- Communication & Collaboration – Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build professional relationships, produce high-quality reports, and work effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
- Professional Skills & Values – Strong organisational, IT, and administrative skills; ability to work independently and under pressure while demonstrating commitment to safeguarding, equality, and the college’s core values.
- Flexibility & Development – Willingness to travel, work flexible hours including evenings, and continuously update skills and knowledge to meet evolving student and institutional needs.
