Role: Teacher – Law
Location: The Bedford Sixth Form
Salary/Benefits: Salary Between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and holiday are based on that of a qualified Teacher.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Teacher of Law to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Inspirational Teaching – Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that foster curiosity and help students develop their knowledge, skills, and understanding across the Sixth Form curriculum.
- Student Progress & Support – Provide timely assessments, feedback, and academic tutoring to support student development, track progress, and contribute to retention and success targets.
- Curriculum & Enrichment – Contribute to curriculum development, organise extracurricular activities, and support the wider student enrichment programme to enhance the overall learner experience.
- Professional Engagement – Participate in performance reviews, staff development, departmental meetings, and promotional events such as Open Evenings and parents’ evenings.
- Compliance & Safeguarding – Uphold statutory responsibilities including safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and continuous professional development in line with College policies.
About you:
- Essential Qualifications & Experience – Degree in a relevant subject, Certificate in Education (or equivalent), GCSEs in English and Maths, and current experience teaching A Level in a Sixth Form or FE setting.
- Teaching Excellence – Proven success in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons with up-to-date subject knowledge and effective use of ILT to enhance learning.
- Inclusive & Supportive Practice – Skilled in creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports diverse learners and promotes equality and diversity.
- Professionalism & Collaboration – Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement and the Sixth Form’s values.
- Flexibility & Safeguarding – Willingness to work across locations and varied schedules, with a strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and health and safety responsibilities.
