Location: Bedford College – The Bedford Learning Centre

Salary: £13.00 per hour.

Hours/Weeks: 20 hours per week

Contract Type: Sessional – Hourly Paid

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Associate Learning Centre Trainer to join our Learning Centres department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Learning Centre Trainer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching & Student Support – Deliver and assess ICT learning effectively, providing guidance, tutorials, and support to help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Assessment & Administration – Conduct assessments and internal verification, manage student inductions and reviews, and maintain accurate records and progress tracking.
  • Systems & Organisation – Support the administration of student bookings and files using database systems, ensuring all documentation is up to date and compliant with Learning Centre procedures.
  • Teamwork & Development – Collaborate with colleagues to meet recruitment and success targets, attend meetings and training, and stay current with developments in Computing and IT.
  • Compliance & Safeguarding – Promote a safe, inclusive learning environment by adhering to safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and professional development policies.

About you:

  • IT Proficiency & Qualifications – Holds ITQ Level 2 or equivalent skills with strong experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Customer Service & Communication – Proven success in customer-facing roles, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Teamwork & Inclusivity – Works well in diverse teams, values others’ contributions, and demonstrates respect, openness, and honesty in all interactions, aligned with the College’s core values.
  • Flexibility & Professionalism – Willing to work evenings and Saturdays, adapt to changing workloads, and promote the College’s reputation through professional conduct and community engagement.
  • Safeguarding & Continuous Development – Committed to safeguarding responsibilities, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and continuously updating skills and knowledge in line with health and safety standards.
