About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Teaching & Student Success – Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching across a range of programmes and levels, supporting students to achieve their full potential through engaging lessons, tutorials, and tailored learning experiences.
• Curriculum & Quality Development – Contribute to curriculum innovation, develop new courses aligned with funding priorities, and ensure schemes of work and assessments meet awarding body standards and quality assurance requirements.
• Assessment & Progress Monitoring – Assess and verify student work, maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and implement timely interventions to support achievement and progression.
• Collaboration & Engagement – Work closely with colleagues, employers, and external bodies; participate in open days, marketing events, and course team meetings; and support wider college initiatives and events.
• Compliance & Professional Standards – Uphold TBCG values and policies, including safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and continuous professional development, ensuring the student experience remains central to all activities.

About you:

• Qualifications & Experience – Holds a degree or equivalent industry experience in a relevant subject, with GCSEs in English and Maths. Demonstrates a strong track record in teaching across levels and using quality assurance systems in Further Education.
• Skills & Professionalism – Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality while working independently or in a team.
• Technology & Innovation – Confident in using IT systems and data to enhance teaching and learning, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and developing creative solutions.
• Values & Leadership – Demonstrates leadership, attention to detail, and alignment with The Bedford College Group’s values, including safeguarding, equality, and health and safety responsibilities.
• Flexibility & Relationship Building – Able to adapt to changing business needs, travel between campuses, and build professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries with students and young people.
