Course manager and lecturer in UAL L3 Diploma Creative Practice Art, Design and Communication (0.595 FTE)

(2D specialist, digital and traditional media AND / OR 3D Fine Art specialist)

We have two exciting opportunities in our arts department; if you have experience of working with students at L2 or L3 and delivering a specialist art curriculum then we’d like to hear from you. Both posts will also have personal tutoring which is an important role in supporting young people in their development.

You will have excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm to inspire and teach arts practice to students in Further Education and be passionate about supporting students secure knowledge and practical skills to progress into related employment or higher study.  We have two required skills specialisms 2D arts that include digital and traditional practices and 3D Fine art/ sculpture specialist.

You will be a team player who is committed to achieving excellent quality of work and agreed performance targets and to achieving the highest standards of personal performance.

It is essential that you have previous experience working with young people in educational or industry settings.

Contractual Details

Rate of Pay or Salary:             £23,976 – £39,544 pro rata per annum (£14,265 – £23,528 per annum), depending on qualifications

Working Time:                         828 hours per annum of teaching and equivalent professional duties over 198 days, for full time posts and pro rata for part time posts.  You will be expected to be on site for 34 hours per week pro rata during the whole academic year.

Contract Type:                         Permanent

Pension:                                   Teachers’ Pension Scheme

Leave entitlement:                   38 days per year plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part time) including discretionary days at Christmas.

Please note: the published salary and terms and conditions are effective until the 31^st of July 2025 when it is proposed that Strode College will merge with Bridgwater & Taunton College from the 1^st of August 2025.  Appointments from the 1^st of August will be subject to a change in terms and conditions and details of this will be confirmed at interview and in any subsequent offer of employment.
