The School of Creative Industries at Kingson College are seeking a Variable Hours Technician to provide general technical support for effective curriculum delivery as part of the Media team. This will involve the effective management of specialist media resources and working with other technicians, administrative staff, teachers and students to ensure the delivery of high quality education.

You’ll carry out work in the School of the Creative Industries with a focus on supporting media curriculum delivery; supervision and maintenance of audio-visual equipment, classrooms and TV studios, and facilitating safe access to college resources for students. This role will be based mainly within the Media section, although remains part of a larger curriculum support team with a requirement to fulfil wider obligations within the School when needed.

As our Media technician, we’d like you to hold a qualification in a relevant specialism ideally at Level 4 or above and have good working knowledge of specialist media equipment and resources, including evidence of understanding relevant Health and Safety regulations and experience of effectively using Microsoft applications, including the Adobe suite.

An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you’ll have a positive mind-set evident in previous roles, able to work well under pressure and to agreed deadlines. Adaptable and flexible, you’ll be able to work in an environment of change and development, able to work evenings and other days/hours with reasonable notice.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.

Working days and hours may vary throughout the academic year depending on the needs of the School.
