Hours: 29.6 hours per week (0.8 fte)
Salary: Up to £41,313 pro rata per annum* (subject to experience and qualifications). Plus generous benefits. These include: 

•    57 days annual leave per year pro rata (including bank holidays and efficiency closures)
•    Generous Occupational Pension Scheme 
•    Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) 

About the role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Mathematics tutor to join our team, primarily focusing on A Level students, with the possibility of teaching some GCSE 16-18 classes if required. Your primary goal will be to inspire and support students in achieving their academic potential in Mathematics, supporting their progression and next steps.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Deliver high-quality A Level Mathematics instruction.
•    Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
•    Support students in preparing for their A Level examinations.
•    Teach GCSE Mathematics classes as needed.
•    Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of Mathematics education.

Teaching, Learning & Assessment (TLA):
•    Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students. Utilise a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students can access the curriculum and achieve their best.
•    Learning: Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Support students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•    Assessment: Design and implement assessments that accurately measure student progress and understanding. Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve and succeed.

*Staff with Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) via the Society for Education and Training (SET) are eligible to receive an enhanced salary of £42,738 – ask us for further details

About the Person

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and innovative teacher with:

Qualifications:
•    At least Level 3 in Mathematics.
•    A relevant degree qualification (desirable).
•    A recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or a willingness to work towards it.

Experience:
•    Proven experience in teaching Mathematics, at A Level, preferably in an FE environment.
•    Familiarity with the A Level Mathematics curriculum and examination requirements.
•    Experience teaching GCSE Mathematics is a plus.

Skills:
•    Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills.
•    A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
