Job title: Teaching Assistant
Hours: 32.5 hours per week. Monday 8:30am-4:00pm, Tuesday to Friday 8:40am-3:30pm, 39 weeks
Location: Highfield Ely Academy
Actual Salary: ALT Grade E, plus a retention allowance, £21,795 – £22,676 actual per annum
We are looking for two Teaching Assistants who are student-focused, kind, energetic and positive to work in our Special school supporting children and adults with a range of additional needs. All students have an Education Health Care Plan and range from 2 to 25 years of age.
What do we need from a level 3 teaching assistant?
Significant experience working with children/ adults with a preference for experience working with children/adults with additional needs.
The ability to take responsibility for delivering learning activities when the teacher is not present (typically PPA cover or sickness absence cover)
Must support the teacher in assessment, classroom organisation and behaviour management.
Establish and maintain supportive relationships with individual pupils, colleagues and parents/carers

This Level 3 position could be anywhere within the school.
The interview will include teaching a pre-planned teaching task for 20 mins to a small group of students.
