Deputy Principal
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced school leader to join the senior leadership team as a Deputy Principal at Elstow School. We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and dedicated leader with a passion for raising standards through excellence in teaching and learning.
The candidate will need to be able to think and lead strategically, as well as maintaining a high profile, ‘on-the-ground’ presence, ensuring consistency of excellence across the school.
This position is ideal for a candidate with existing successful senior or middle leadership and line management experience. Evidence of having effectively led on whole school initiatives would be an advantage.
Key Duties
To support the Principal in the smooth running of the school.
To deputise for the Principal when required.
Strategic leadership, in conjunction with the Principal, of the quality assurance of all aspects of the school’s academic and wider performance, self-evaluation and development planning.
Strategic leadership of specific areas of accountability, dependant on the successful candidate’s experience and expertise and that of the wider SLT team.
Line management of senior and middle leaders.
Teaching commitment as directed by the Principal.
The ideal candidate will have
- Qualified teacher status
- Degree
- Professional development in preparation for a leadership role.
- Leadership and management experience in a school
- A proven track record of excellent teaching
- Previous involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning
- A strong understanding of the impact of Curriculum & Assessment
- Experience of successful line management and staff development
- Experience of impacting positively on standards
- Experience of whole school responsibility including any pastoral experience.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships with stakeholders
- The ability to lead and inspire staff
- Advanced understanding of safeguarding/child protection procedures
- Alignment and commitment to the perspective, vision and values of Advantage Schools
