We are seeking a dedicated Learning Resources Assistant to join our Academic Services team. This role involves supporting the implementation of an integrated learning resource service that enhances teaching, learning, and research activities through both traditional and virtual learning technologies. You will provide front-line support to staff and students, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and IT systems.

This role is part time working 16 hours per week (days to be determined), 38 weeks per year – the actual salary is £9,080.33. This is pro rata of £22,691.

What you’ll be doing:

Manage general Learning Resource Centre duties, including handling enquiries, issuing, returning, and renewing resources, shelving, and maintaining a conducive study environment.

Participate in a rota across Learning Resource Centres to deliver consistent, high-quality service.

Maintain and collate statistical data on the use of Learning Resource Centre services.

Assist users in accessing services and facilities provided by the Academic Services department.

Support staff and students in using online resources, college systems, and networks, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.

Engage in new initiatives and projects within the Academic Services department.

Assist in the acquisition and maintenance of physical and online resources.

Work across College sites as required.

Essential Criteria:

Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.

Experience in a front-facing customer service role.

Ability to work flexibly within a rota-led service, including evenings and weekends.

Well-developed IT skills and experience with various software.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to organise and prioritise workloads.

Ability to manage challenging behaviours positively and productively.

Commitment to supporting a customer-focused and student-centred learning experience.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
