Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Learning Facilitator to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Learning Facilitator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Study Skills Support – Support development of study skills for students with Learning Difficulties/Disabilities, and maintain relevant documentation.
- Main Duties – Provide 1-1 or group support, develop literacy and numeracy skills, administer tests, liaise with curriculum staff, and maintain learning resources.
- Student Monitoring – Monitor and promote student attendance, maintain records, and propose service improvements.
- College Functions – Assist at College functions, attend meetings, and undertake other duties as directed.
- Statutory Duties – Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, and engage in training and development.
About you:
- Educational Qualifications – Educated to Level 3 standard, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, GCSE Maths and English (grades A – C) or equivalent.
- Experience – Experience in educational or care settings, working with students with learning difficulties/disabilities, administrative work, and diverse vocational contexts.
- Skills and Abilities – Ability to maintain accurate records, work as part of a team, recognize discrimination, and promote equality and diversity.
- Personal Attributes – Sensitive approach to individual needs, good organizational skills, positive working relationships, and ability to promote the College’s reputation.
- Communication and Safeguarding – Effective communication skills, responsibility for safeguarding welfare, maintaining appropriate relationships, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
