Reports to: Assistant Principal

Salary: MPS £37,313 – £49,745 / UPS £52,221 – £56,157 plus TLR

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Geography to lead our dedicated team and inspire the next generation of geographers and who cares deeply about the pupils they teach and are dedicated to helping our pupils access real options.

As the Head of Geography, you will provide strategic leadership and management to a collaborative and dynamic department. With a commitment to excellence, you will ensure that every student receives an outstanding education, creating a love for Geography while driving high levels of achievement.

You will lead, develop and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum, which prioritises knowledge acquisition and recall enabling the highest level of pupil progress and attainment. You will lead the development of the department and ensure that teaching and learning remain exceptional while promoting a strong school culture within a nurturing and rigorous environment.

This role is an opportunity to be part of a committed and passionate team of geographers building on a strong set of our first year 11 results. As a team, we plan collaboratively and work with colleagues a cross our network to ensure pupils have an exceptional. GSCE geography is a popular choice with three-quarters of our founding year group choosing to study at key stage 4. We offer a range of enrichment opportunities for our pupils – from exploring ‘fast fashion’ to an introduction to criminology, broadening pupils’ understanding of the world around them.
