South Thames College are looking to appoint a Curriculum Lead to take responsibility for the teaching, learning and development of programmes designed to meet the individual needs of learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Providing coordination and leadership of the delivery team, you will teach on, coordinate and develop curriculum on a range of Entry 1-3 level programmes, with a specific focus on the promotion of independence and the enhancement of employability skills for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. You will lead and manage the staff who form part of the delivery teams and ensure a high quality student support and learning is delivered. You will ensure the effective and efficient use of resources allocated to the programmes and contribute to the future direction and planning of programmes.

We’d like our Curriculum Lead to have current teaching experience on a range of academic/vocational levels, embedding Maths, English, employability and life skills. You’ll be experienced in motivating and guiding individuals and/or teams towards agreed objectives and have a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver on a variety of vocational programmes. There is also an expectation to teach within the Foundation Learning and Pathways course for up to 18 hours per week.

With current knowledge of curriculum development within Foundation Learning, you will understand the value of strategies for inclusive learning and associated progression pathways in the Further Education sector for improving opportunities for people with SEND. You will have a thorough understanding of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies within the Preparing for Adulthood agenda and have experience of vocational curriculum development within Further Education including RARPA.
