HR Business Partner
Job Details
We have a rare opportunity for a talented and motivated HR Business Partner to join our outstanding Human Resources department here at Bradford College.
As the HR Business Partner you will be a key member of the HR management team and be responsible for working collaboratively with senior leaders and line managers to achieve the organisational objectives of the College.
You will work closely with the HR shared services team to deliver HR solutions and provide a responsive service to managers and colleagues and help to develop and implement better people management practices.
Please note that interviews for this position will take place on Friday 17th January.
Responsibilities include:
- To work with HR Management Team to lead, implement and deliver HR initiatives in line with organisational objectives.
- To act as a point of contact for people expertise for a number of academic and professional support service areas. Adopting a positive, professional and proactive approach and demonstrating a clear understanding of these business areas.
- With support from the HR Advisors, delivery of HR operational and cyclical activities such as, workforce planning, employee relations and performance matters.
- Ensures policies, procedures and systems for HR are up to date, in line with legislation and deliver against current and future needs.
- Supports the recruitment and selection requirements by: understanding business needs, ensuring a business case has been provided for each vacancy, and supports with succession planning by identifying opportunities for progression and promotion.
- Be the point of escalation for complex case management support
- Support the Head of HR with working towards the Colleges strategic objectives to becoming an employer of choice
- Ensure ER KPIs are met with the support of accurate reporting
- Work towards a positive relationships with recognised Trade Unions
- Be responsible for the completion of legal paperwork such as ET3’s and settlement agreements

Education & Training
- CIPD Level 5 or above or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Mediation Qualification or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe.
- GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
- GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
Experience
- Significant work experience in a HR environment.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering HR services in a unionised environment.
- Experience of handling varied generalist casework.
- Experience of designing and implementing organisation change such as restructuring, redundancy and outsourcing.
