Main Grade Lecturer – Subject Specialists for Students with SEND
Barnet and Southgate College
Contract: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (other FTE’s will also be considered).
Primary Location: The post will based at our Southgate site although the post holder will be required to work at the other main College sites
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and experienced teachers who are passionate about SEN teaching and learning. Some of our students have a range of complex physical, sensory and learning needs with huge capacity and eagerness to learn and develop their skills and fulfil their ambitions. Successful candidate will join our inspirational and creative team in our Supported Learning Centre at our Southgate Campus.
Experience of working with young people with severe and moderate learning difficulties is desirable but we welcome applications from teachers who wish to develop their skills in SEN. We have a full time and a part time posts available.
We are keen to recruit highly passionate teachers with specialisms that could support our developing and evolving curriculum offer for young people. A desire to work with young people with a range of SEN needs is essential.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate how to adapt lessons to suit a range of learning needs.
For all positions, successful candidates will be expected to teach a range of subjects and programmes across the subject spectrums. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are essential for all roles. You will hold a hold a relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) and must possess a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards achieving this.
